Approx. 5.000 breads and 10.000 pastries were donated to homeless people, retirement homes, clubs and other social institutions since the start of the pandemic.

Challenging times ask for extraordinary measures. According to this motto we worked in the last weeks and months. “As we found out that the food banks closed we knew we had to help”, says Kurt Landy, son to the bakery founder. The project was a matter of personal importance to him. He delivered the bread and pastries weekly to the institutions.

One of the highlights was supporting the project “Schbass uff der Gass” (SR3). For one week the bus “Hokus Pokus FidiBus” drove to various nursing homes in the Saarland. They provided entertainment and we provided baked goods.

The “DRK Jugend” took over some of the food banks’ job. They regularly picked up baked good donations from our headquarters.

Since the beginning of June the food banks started their work again. They pick up baked good donations regularly from our headquarters, as does the Wildpark in Potzberg.

“As a regional, family run bakery it is very important to us to help where help is needed and possible”, says Kurt Landry who also has a huge part in the bakery’s children foundation and its projects.
